hungry ghosts

When we study patterns within the brain, it is clear that it is not about ridding the content but more so
transforming our relationship to it;
becoming more intimate with its workings.
First, it’s an invitation.
Then, a dissolution of the wall of denial to our wired tendencies.
As we embark on the journey, we can begin to tend to and befriend
our invited house guests to further cultivate compassionate curiosity.
With this, there is an ability to honour judgement and shame
and confront the pride towards a strong intellect as a vail to physical experience.
Then we master.
We become masters of the workings of the mind
to then understand how to shift the current of thought toward our innate nature of warmth, joy and love.
Deliberated self-directed mental activity and compassionate observation of the self IS enough to understand
the spiral that we are walking in. The words of St. Francis of Assisi illustrate just this,
‘The one you are looking for is, the one who is looking’.
An understanding that we already are, moves one from surviving to living with a sincere faith in an ability to tame the ever
famished personas of the mind. ⠀⠀⠀
